Meet the midriff

Hello, welcome to my world…

I’m what advertisers and marketeers call a ‘midriff’ – a fully-fledged member of the generation of women, mostly in their 20s and 30s – who are named after the unforgiving fashion for naked navels, which began in the 1980s.

The midriff view of the world goes much deeper than the clothes we choose to wear. For one thing, we are a breed of women who don’t assume equality is defined by the ‘sexual front’ we present to the world.

Intrigued?

Click my New Views link on the right to read about where I’m coming from, and why I often feel misrepresented and frustrated by the hallowed voices of Radio 4, on my first blog post – Bangles and Buffalo Stance : How a midriff was born.

Enjoy!
